Returning from the Motherland
Returned home this morning from a week-long trip to the Motherland. Because MM planned on going there for business this week, we decided to head out a week earlier and do some sightseeing! It has been quite a while since MM and I have been there--more than a decade--and so things naturally have been quite different.
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in the Shin-Yi District, right next to the Taipei City Hall and Taipei 101, the tallest skyscraper in the World. We visited many of the sights in Taipei, including the National Palace Museum, Shi-Lin Night Market, Danshui, Fisherman's Wharf, Long-Shan Temple, the Presidential Palace, Chiang Kai Shek Memorial, Sun-Yat Sen Memorial, and a few other places.
One of the cool things about Taipei is the admixture of modern and historical architecture.
The best part of the trip was all the yummy food that we were able to have there...but I'll let MM post about that!
